With the addition of the sweet vanilla and herbal complexity of Benedictine liqueur, this drink is like a Manhattan cocktailNamed after KC’s infamous political boss Tom Pendergast, this cocktail’s formula and character have made it a local classic.

• 1 1/2 oz Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey

• 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth (we use Dolin)

• 1/2 oz Benedictine

• 3 Heavy dashes Angostura Bitters

• Long lemon twist

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir until cold and properly diluted. Strain into a cold rocks without ice. Garnish with a long lemon twist.
